Surprise Jake Paul Opponent Unveiled, Dashing Anthony Joshua Fight Hopes

Jake Paul, a YouTuber-turned-boxer, will have an exhibition fight against world lightweight champion Gervonta Davis in November. The bout will take place at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia on Friday, November 14.

Davis, an unbeaten WBA lightweight champion, usually fights at 135lb. Paul, on the other hand, had his last fight at cruiserweight, weighing in at 199.4lb. The significant weight difference between the two fighters is 65.6lb, with Paul being taller at 6ft 1in compared to Davis at 5ft 5in.

The fight between Paul and Davis came as a surprise, as Paul had been in discussions for a super-fight with Anthony Joshua. However, talks with Joshua fell through due to network-related issues. The upcoming exhibition match will be streamed on Netflix.

Davis, known for his powerful punches and 30-0 professional record with 28 knockouts, was initially considering a rematch with Lamont Roach Jr. Paul, with a professional record of 12-1, expressed confidence in facing Davis, stating his motto of taking on any opponent, anytime, anywhere.

Roach Jr reacted to the news of Davis facing Paul instead of him, implying that Davis was avoiding their rematch. The fight between Paul and Davis is anticipated to use larger glove sizes due to Davis's reputation as a hard puncher.
