Taylor Swift reveals upcoming 12th album 'The Life of a Showgirl'
A new Taylor Swift era is on the horizon as the 14-time Grammy winner revealed on her Instagram at 12:12 early Tuesday morning that her 12th studio album, "The Life of a Showgirl," is in the works. The announcement was made in a video shared on Travis and Jason Kelce's podcast, "New Heights."
A countdown on Swift's website hinted at the upcoming album, with the countdown set to end on August 12 at 12:12 a.m. However, when the countdown reached zero, the website crashed for many eager fans awaiting the news.
Swift is set to make a guest appearance on the next episode of "New Heights" podcast hosted by Travis and Jason Kelce, which will be released on Wednesday at 7 p.m. In anticipation of the album, Swift's Taylor Nation fan page posted 12 photos of the singer in orange outfits from her Eras Tour.
"The Life of a Showgirl" follows Swift's 11th studio album, "The Tortured Poets Department," released on April 19, 2024. This album surprised fans with an additional 15 songs released at 2 a.m., making it a secret double album.
Earlier in May, Swift announced that she had regained ownership of her masters and planned to re-record her albums to reclaim control over her music catalog. She has already re-released four albums, with "Reputation" and her debut album still pending re-recording and release.
