Texans' CJ Stroud criticizes team for lackluster performance post-loss
Charissa Thompson, Charles Woodson, Julian Edleman, and Jay Glazer discussed key storylines for the upcoming 2025 NFL Season.
The Houston Texans lost 14-9 to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday without scoring a touchdown. Quarterback C.J. Stroud commented on his team's performance, stating they did not deserve to win due to not doing the right things. Stroud acknowledged the loss as a wake-up call for the team.
Houston led at halftime with a 9-7 score after three field goals by Ka’imi Fairbairn. However, they failed to score in the second half, turning the ball over twice and punting on other possessions.
Stroud, a force for the Texans since being drafted in 2023, had a challenging game with 188 passing yards and an interception. This marked the first time in his career going two consecutive games without a touchdown pass.
Stroud, the 2023 Offensive Rookie of the Year, aims to improve his performance after a slight dip in production last season. Despite the setback, he remains optimistic about the rest of the 2025 season.
The Texans will play their home opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on "Monday Night Football" next week. Scott Thompson is a sports writer for Fox News Digital.
