Green Party in Leadership Standoff
Greens Leadership Race Takes Shape
The battle to lead the Green Party in England and Wales has been narrowed down to two main contenders.
Two of the party's MPs, Adrian Ramsay and Ellie Chowns, are offering an election-focused approach to leadership. Conversely, Zack Polanski, the party's current deputy leader, advocates for a more radical, mass-membership movement.
The Green Party currently holds four MPs in Westminster, having gained four during the last election in 2021. The outgoing leader, Carla Denyer, decided not to seek re-election, and Ramsay opted to stand again alongside Chowns.
Voting for the party leadership and deputy leadership positions will open on August 1st and run until September 2nd. Results will be announced on the same day.
