Following the tragic car crash death of forward Diogo Jota in Spain on Thursday (3 July), Liverpool FC fans have expressed their devastation by leaving tributes outside Anfield stadium.

Mourners have placed flowers, shirts, and scarves on the ground outside the stadium, while the club flag with the club crest is flying at half-mast.

Liverpool FC issued a statement expressing their deep grief over the "unimaginable loss" of the 28-year-old player. They requested privacy for his family and teammates.

Diogo Jota, who had recently married his long-term girlfriend Rute Cardoso in Porto, died alongside his 26-year-old brother Andre.
