The Rock debuts slimmer look in Venice for movie promo

Dwayne Johnson, 53, displayed his slimmer figure at the Venice Film Festival on Monday after a recent weight loss journey.

The actor, also known as The Rock, attended the festival to promote his new movie The Smashing Machine.

He appeared in a gray double-breasted suit with a white shirt and black shoes, sporting round glasses.

The Smashing Machine allowed Johnson to portray mixed martial arts and UFC champion Mark Kerr, showcasing a different side of his acting abilities.

In the film, Johnson underwent a significant physical transformation to resemble the 56-year-old former wrestler and MMA fighter.

He shared that he was eager for this change, feeling a desire to push his acting further beyond his usual action roles.

Johnson praised Kerr during a press conference, emphasizing the film's focus on love and resilience rather than just fighting.

The actor lost around 60 pounds with the help of a functional medicine doctor, addressing gut-related health issues.

Johnson had previously discussed his health journey on the Dr. Mark Hyman Show, highlighting the importance of treating root causes rather than symptoms.

Tests revealed damage to his intestines from past antibiotic use, leading to a personalized gut rehabilitation program.
