Tom Holland Filming New Spider-Man Movie in Glasgow

Actor Tom Holland, known for his role as Spider-Man, is currently in Glasgow filming the upcoming installment of the superhero series.

The movie, titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day, started filming in the city on Friday. This is the second film Holland has worked on in Scotland, following his recent filming of Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey in Inverness and Moray.

Certain areas in Glasgow city center have been transformed to resemble an American city for the filming, which is scheduled to take place over a two-week period.

During filming, Holland was spotted shooting an action scene in costume and later interacted with a crowd of around 100 fans. The city center has been partially closed off for the production, leading to warnings of potential disruptions.

Glasgow has become a popular location for Hollywood productions, with actors like Glen Powell also filming movies in the city recently. Holland, who has portrayed Peter Parker and Spider-Man since 2016, engaged with fans by taking photos and chatting with them both with and without his mask.

The movie Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to hit cinemas in July next year. Glasgow has previously served as a stand-in for New York and Gotham City in various films, showcasing its versatility as a filming location for major Hollywood projects.
