Birmingham gets a boost in midfield with Wolves loanee Doyle.
Birmingham City Sign Midfielder Tommy Doyle on Loan
Birmingham City have secured the services of midfielder Tommy Doyle on a season-long loan deal from Wolverhampton Wanderers. The 23-year-old has made 58 appearances for Wolves since joining from Manchester City in 2023.
Despite his appearances, Doyle only started three Premier League games last season as Wolves finished 16th in the league. He previously had loan spells at Hamburg and Cardiff City before joining Sheffield United on loan in 2022 alongside teammate James McAtee.
During his time at Sheffield United, Doyle scored four goals and provided seven assists as the club earned promotion to the Premier League. He also scored the winning goal in the FA Cup quarter-finals against Blackburn Rovers but was unable to play in the semi-final against Manchester City due to competition rules.
"I'm excited to be joining Birmingham City," Doyle said. "It's a big club with big ambitions, and I'm looking forward to contributing to their success."
