Trevor Lawrence Overcomes Panic to Score Crucial TD

Charles Woodson interviewed Travis Hunter about his exceptional two-way talent.

During Monday night's game, Trevor Lawrence led the Jacksonville Jaguars to victory over the Kansas City Chiefs with a game-winning drive. Lawrence threw a pass to Brian Thomas Jr. for a touchdown after a challenging play where he fell down and got back up to score the go-ahead touchdown.

Lawrence managed to get the Jaguars to the Chiefs' 1-yard line. Despite having his foot stepped on during the play, he held onto the ball as he fell backward. Instead of giving up, Lawrence got back on his feet, assessed the field, and found an opportunity to score.

After scrambling to his left and evading a Chiefs defender, Lawrence dove into the end zone, putting the Jaguars ahead 31-28, ultimately winning the game by the same score.

In an interview with ESPN's Laura Rutledge after the game, Lawrence described the moment as sheer panic on the ground, realizing they had no timeouts. Despite being stepped on, he made the decision to get back up and make a play, leading to the crucial touchdown.

Lawrence completed 18 of 25 passes for 221 yards, with one touchdown pass and an interception. He also lost a fumble at the goal line earlier in the game. Jaguars head coach Liam Coen praised the team's resiliency, acknowledging the dramatic finish and Lawrence's determination not to lose.

With this victory, the Jaguars improved their season record to 4-1, while the Chiefs dropped to 2-3.
