Trump Administration Ridiculed for $50M Bounty on Maduro's Head

The Trump administration and Attorney General Pam Bondi faced social media mockery after increasing the reward for information leading to the capture of Venezuela’s president.

Bondi accused Nicolas Maduro of involvement in drug trafficking and collaborating with cartels to smuggle fentanyl-laced cocaine into the U.S.

In a video announcement, Bondi stated that Maduro would face justice for his crimes under President Trump's leadership.

Social media users joked about the reward announcement, linking it to the Jeffrey Epstein files controversy.

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil criticized the reward as "pathetic" and labeled Bondi's actions as a political propaganda stunt.

Maduro and his allies were indicted in 2020 on charges of narco-terrorism and cocaine importation. The reward for Maduro's arrest was increased to $25 million by the Biden administration.

Despite international condemnation, Maduro remains in power and has defied efforts to remove him from office.

The U.S. recently struck a deal with Venezuela to release jailed Americans in exchange for deported migrants. Additionally, U.S. sanctions on Venezuela were eased to allow Chevron to resume drilling operations.

Bondi claimed that the Justice Department had seized over $700 million in assets linked to Maduro and traced a significant amount of seized cocaine back to him.
