Trump Shares Photo of Alleged Attack on DOGE Staffer in DC

Former DOGE employee Edward Coristine, known as “Big Balls,” was identified as the federal staffer attacked in Washington, D.C., during an attempted carjacking over the weekend.

President Donald Trump shared a photo of Coristine on Truth Social, expressing concerns about rising crime in D.C. He called for stricter prosecution of young offenders and threatened federal intervention if the situation did not improve.

Coristine was assaulted by a group of juveniles while protecting a woman from a carjacking near Dupont Circle. Two 15-year-olds from Maryland were arrested and charged with unarmed carjacking. Coristine's iPhone was stolen during the incident.

Despite Trump's claims, violent crime in D.C. had decreased by 35% in 2024. Elon Musk also commented on the incident but did not mention Coristine by name. Coristine now works at the Social Security Administration after catching Musk's attention by changing his name on LinkedIn.
