Trump Signs Ceasefire Deal in Egypt for Peace in the Middle East
US President Donald Trump and other world leaders signed the first phase of a Gaza ceasefire agreement at a summit in Egypt after the release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners and detainees. Trump, along with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and leaders from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey, signed the document that marked the initial phase of the ceasefire deal.
At the event, Trump stood in front of a banner reading "Peace 2025" and individually greeted the attending world leaders. The US President, Egypt's President Sisi, Qatar's Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and Turkey's President Erdogan put their signatures on the agreement.
During a news conference, Trump stated, "We've achieved what everybody said was impossible - at long last, we have peace in the Middle East."
