US tech CEO resigns following viral embrace at Coldplay concert

A US tech company announced that its CEO, Andy Byron, has resigned after a video of him embracing a female co-worker at a Coldplay concert went viral. The company, Astronomer, confirmed the resignation in a statement and mentioned that the board of directors has accepted it.

The video, which showed Byron and Kristin Cabot, the firm's chief people officer, hugging on a big screen at the concert in Foxborough, Massachusetts, gained widespread attention. Astronomer stated that it upholds certain values and expectations from its leaders in terms of conduct and accountability, which were not met in this instance.

Following the incident, Astronomer's board will initiate a search for a new CEO while the chief product officer will serve as the interim CEO. The company also announced an investigation into the relationship between Byron and Cabot after the video surfaced.

During the concert, Coldplay's lead singer, Chris Martin, humorously commented on the situation to the audience after seeing the pair hide from the camera, suggesting they were either having an affair or just shy. The video of the incident garnered millions of views online.
