The Dodgers' bullpen was not needed in World Series Game 2 as Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitched a complete game on Saturday. Dodgers' Will Smith hit a go-ahead home run in the seventh inning, helping the Dodgers beat the Blue Jays 5-1 to tie the series. The next game will be in Los Angeles for Game 3 on Monday.

Yamamoto retired the last 20 batters he faced from the third inning onwards, finishing the game with a popup on his 105th pitch. Despite early trouble, he settled in for his second complete game of the postseason, with eight strikeouts and no walks. This was the first World Series complete game since 2015.

Blue Jays' starter Kevin Gausman also performed well, allowing only a two-out single in the first inning before giving up a go-ahead home run to Smith in the seventh. Gausman struck out six and walked none through 6 2/3 innings before being replaced.

The Dodgers added two more runs in the eighth inning off the Blue Jays' bullpen. Smith finished the game with three RBIs. Yamamoto managed to keep the Blue Jays at bay, striking out the side in the eighth and going through the heart of their order in the ninth.

Yamamoto's strong performance secured the win for the Dodgers in Game 2, tying the World Series at 1-1.
