Woman Dragged Away and Mauled by Tiger at Chinese Safari Park
CCTV footage from Badaling Wildlife World in Beijing, China, captured the moment a woman was attacked by a tiger after exiting her car, mistakenly thinking they had left the enclosure. The woman, unidentified, was swiftly dragged away by the tiger as her husband and another woman from the car tried to help.
The incident, dating back to 2016, saw the younger woman leaving the vehicle with three adults and a child, believing they were outside the enclosure. She was attacked by the tiger, while the older woman who tried to assist her was tragically mauled to death by a second tiger. The younger woman survived but sustained serious injuries.
Reports initially suggested a family dispute led to them leaving the car, but it was clarified that they simply thought they had exited the enclosure. The husband attempted to rescue his family, while the child remained in the vehicle. The park, spanning 6,000 acres, warns visitors not to leave their vehicles at any point.
In a separate incident, a farmer in China narrowly avoided an attack by a wild tiger in Heilongjiang province. Surveillance footage showed the man encountering the tiger near his home, with the tiger charging at his gate. The man managed to close the gate just in time, escaping unharmed. Authorities had issued warnings after two men were attacked by Siberian tigers in the area.
The man, aged 74, recounted the terrifying experience, expressing relief at reaching safety. Despite the close call, he remained unharmed, realizing he could not outrun the tiger. Authorities had launched a search for the tiger using infrared cameras and drones following the attacks in the region.
