Xavier Worthy Exits Chargers Game Due to Shoulder Injury
Colin Cowherd has revealed his final NFL predictions for the upcoming season, naming the Cincinnati Bengals, New England Patriots, and Seattle Seahawks as clinching Wild Card spots.
During the Kansas City Chiefs' 2025 season opener in Brazil, wide receiver Xavier Worthy suffered a shoulder injury in a collision with tight end Travis Kelce just three plays into the game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Worthy, visibly in pain, left the game and did not return after the collision. Although the exact nature of his injury was not disclosed by the Chiefs, there were speculations of a possible dislocation as trainers attended to him on the field.
Xavier Worthy, in his second year with the Chiefs, was expected to be a key target for quarterback Patrick Mahomes, especially with another player serving a suspension. The team and Worthy hope for a quick recovery as they prepare to face the Philadelphia Eagles in their next game.
With Worthy sidelined, the Chiefs faced challenges moving the ball in the first half against the Chargers, who took an early 10-0 lead. Despite the setback, the Chiefs managed to score six points with field goals from Harrison Butker before halftime.
Last season, Worthy had an impressive performance with 59 catches for 638 yards and six touchdowns in 17 games. He played a significant role in the playoffs, leading the team in receiving yards and receptions, including scoring a touchdown in the Super Bowl loss to the Eagles.
